What to Expect at Hillside

What can I expect on Sunday mornings?

Worship services at Hillside might keep you guessing.  We believe strongly that 2000-some years of Christian history have left us with a rich color palette with which to paint our worship.  So on any given Sunday morning, you may find us singing to God an old and beloved hymn with organ, or you may find drums, bass, and electric guitar as the accompaniment to a newly-written song. You may find the words of an ancient prayer giving language to the cry of your heart. You may sense God speaking to you through the beauty of a choral anthem or classical guitar piece. You may find yourself drawn closer to your Creator as you hear His truth in scripture, or see it come alive in a dance or drama. And each week you will hear a sermon that is both accessible and engaging and also deep and challenging. Above all, expect to find our community using whatever tools we have at our disposal to try to give our best gift of worship to God.

Children's Ministries

“At Hillside, we believe that children are a valuable part of the kingdom of God.  We seek to partner with parents to foster their spiritual growth and knowledge of the Bible.  We have exciting and engaging programs for children ages baby-5^th grade.  1^st-5^th grade children begin worship with their parents and are dismissed to their classes after fifteen minutes.  This way, they are familiar with the sanctuary and Pulse services and spend time in worship together with their families.  We utilize a variety of curriculums, all designed to activate the five senses and teach to an array of learning styles.”

Student Ministries

Student Ministries provides an upbeat environment for students to grow in their relationship with Christ. Each week students will experience a loving community of leaders and students. Our time begins with community building time, followed by age-specific teaching and time of prayer. High School Students meet at 9:30 am and are encouraged to attend the Pulse worship service at 11:00 am.  Middle School Students meet at 11:00 am.  All in the Student Center.

College

We attend the Pulse worship service at 11:00 am.

Adult Education
