At EDGE High School Ministry,
Our vision is simple: Helping students CONNECT with Jesus and PARTICIPATE in His Story.
When students are deeply rooted in their relationship with Jesus and when they know how to use the gifts that God has given them, they become world-changers! We know that students are faced with a lot these days. We also know that students have a lot of questions about faith, spirituality, and eternity. Our goal is to walk alongside of students through it all, leading them one step closer to Jesus.
Thursday Nights, 7-9
Every Thursday, we offer a dynamic, high-energy experience for our High School students called EDGE, which includes live worship, creative teaching, and community with other students.
In addition to our mid-week gatherings, we believe it’s important for our students to connect with the larger church community of Hillside and have the opportunity to attend church with their families. So on Sundays, we encourage our students to attend either PULSE or Sanctuary Service.
Let’s be honest:
Trying out something new can be hard
Trying out a new church can be super uncomfortable, awkward, nerve-wracking, weird, etc…
You get the point. We know where you’re coming from, we’ve all had to be the “noobie” at some point.
At EDGE, we want you here!
You matter to us, and you matter to Jesus. So, we try our best to welcome you into our community by introducing you to new people and connecting you with awesome adult leaders.
As a high school student these days, we know you face some extremely difficult things. We know you have questions and maybe some doubts. We pay attention to what’s going on in your life and try to be good listeners. And since we truly care about all our students, we will strive to walk alongside you through it all.
So come hang out with us sometime! You’ll probably have some fun, laugh, and meet some new friends. Sounds pretty good, right?
Planning to come? Let us know, we’ll look out for you!
Mexico Mission Trip
Each year, EDGE goes on a mission trip during Thanksgiving break. While most high schoolers are sitting at home, eating left-over mashed potatoes, and watching the (boring!) Macy’s parade, EDGE students are having the time of their lives spending the week together while serving those less fortunate.
On average each year, about 40 students and 20 adults load up in vans and head to Mexico to serve. A typical trip includes construction projects, VBS-style ministry (puppets, crafts, carnival, music, etc), messages from a guest speaker, and musical worship around a camp-fire. There is also a ton of time to hang out with each other and make new friends. It always seems like after every trip, you come home with 59 new best friends!
And the best part about it all is that we go in the name of Jesus. We have the opportunity to be His Hands & Feet by serving the Mexican people. Without a doubt, Jesus has used this trip to radically transform the lives of those who decide to go.
